Doing what we can

Inside

For now...

Like many things, the spring equinox event we were going to have at Wavehenge March 20th was squashed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The past couple weeks, I channeled the maker-of-things skills to help aid in the fight against the evil bio-nano-bots.

I've included a few links at the bottom if you'd like to help.

Folks at the Fat Cat Fab Lab heard that health care workers badly needed supplies and coordinated with health officials to fabricate face-shields out a roll of raw food-grade bio-degradable plastic we had on hand. Shown above, the plastic roll was cut into panels to fit in a laser cutter.

180+ laser-cut face shields cleaned and sterilized.

Peter Hartmann, Joe Kim, and Mike McVey tirelessly working production and coordination.

Delivery of 50 face shields to Mt Sinai Hospital in Morningside Heights. Hard to tell, but I think he's smiling under that mask.

Now for the latest links I know about...

Thanks for your interest and support!

If you guys are curious, the shop where I co-work is member-run like a co-op and most of the equipment was donated and/or built by us. It is not a 503-c (as it doesn't yet have a "public mission") though they would love donations of any kind, including old shop gear. :)

Some recent art.
Because that's what my newsletter is supposed to be about... :)
